Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs: Tender, Sweet, and Packed with Flavor

Preheat the oven. Set your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet or roasting pan with foil for easy cleanup.

Prepare the ribs. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels and remove the thin membrane from the back for extra tenderness. Season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

Bake the ribs. Place the ribs on the prepared pan, meat side up. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 2½ to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone.

Make the honey garlic sauce. While the ribs bake, heat olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, and ginger. Bring to a gentle simmer for 5–7 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens. If you prefer a thicker sauce, stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for another minute.

Coat the ribs. Once the ribs are tender, remove them from the oven and carefully discard the foil. Brush a generous amount of honey garlic sauce over the ribs.

Caramelize the glaze. Turn your oven to broil (or 450°F/230°C). Place the ribs back in, uncovered, and broil for 5–7 minutes until the sauce becomes sticky and caramelized. Watch closely to prevent burning.

Serve and enjoy. Remove from the oven, brush with a bit more sauce, and let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before cutting. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions for garnish.

Tips or Serving Suggestions
Serve these ribs with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a crisp coleslaw for a complete meal.

For extra flavor, marinate the ribs in half the sauce overnight before baking.

You can also make this recipe in a slow cooker — cook on low for 6–7 hours, then finish under the broiler for that sticky glaze.

Leftover sauce makes a great dip for grilled chicken or shrimp!
