Growing potatoes doesn’t require a garden bed—you can easily raise a healthy crop in a simple bucket.
This method is perfect for small spaces, patios, or anyone who wants a convenient harvest close to home.
1. Choose the container
Select a sturdy bucket with drainage holes. A size of 10–15 liters (3–4 gallons) or larger works best to give the tubers enough space to develop.
2. Prepare the base
Fill the bottom with a layer of nutrient-rich soil mixed with compost. This creates a fertile foundation for growth.
3. Plant the potatoes
Place two to three sprouted seed potatoes on the soil surface with the eyes facing upward.
Cover them lightly with additional soil.
