Scratches on glasses, don’t waste money: apply a little and they will disappear immediately

Scratches on lenses: this simple ingredient removes them without spending a cent!
Have you noticed fine scratches on your favorite lenses? Whether it’s your eyeglasses, sunglasses, or even your elegant tableware, these unwanted marks can ruin their appearance… and sometimes even their usefulness.

The natural reaction? Head straight to the optician or the store to buy an expensive product—or even replace the entire item. But what if I told you there’s a natural, almost free, homemade solution that could bring your scratched lenses back to life in just a few minutes?

🧼 The miracle ingredient you already have at home!
The secret? White non-gel toothpaste.

Yes, as surprising as it may seem, the product you use every morning on your teeth is also an excellent gentle abrasive capable of gently polishing the surface of the lens without damaging it. This isn’t a hack out of the blue: many opticians recognize that certain baking soda-based toothpastes can visibly reduce superficial scratches.

🧪 How to apply it step by step:
1. Clean the lens thoroughly
First, make sure your lenses are clean. Use warm water and a little mild soap to remove any dust or dirt. Dry them thoroughly with a soft microfiber cloth.

2. Apply a small amount of toothpaste
Take a small amount of white toothpaste (avoid gel toothpaste or those with coarse exfoliating particles, which can worsen scratches).

3. Massage gently
Using a soft cotton pad or microfiber cloth, rub the scratch in circular motions for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. No need to rub too hard—gentleness is key.

4. Rinse with clean water
Rinse the glass with warm water to remove any toothpaste residue, then dry again with a clean cloth.

5. Repeat if necessary
For more stubborn scratches, you can repeat this process once or twice, letting the toothpaste sit for a few minutes before rinsing.
Why does this trick really work?

White toothpaste often contains very fine abrasive microparticles designed to polish enamel without damaging it. These same particles, when applied to a glass or plastic surface, can smooth out micro-scratches and make surfaces shinier and cleaner.

And unlike industrial cleaning products, toothpaste is non-toxic, affordable, and readily available at home!

❌ What to never do
Do not use this trick on anti-reflective or coated glass without checking with the manufacturer.
